Privacy Policy

This document explains what data may be processed when using the Zakaucjowani app, why it is used and what rights users may have.

Effective date: 3 May 2026 Version: 1.1

1. Data controller

The controller of data processed in connection with the use of the Zakaucjowani app is Adamic Studio.

For privacy and data processing matters, contact: kontakt@zakaucjowani.pl.

2. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data may be processed when using the Zakaucjowani app, for what purpose it is used and what rights users may have.

The app is intended in particular for:

  • finding reverse vending machines and return points,
  • checking point statuses,
  • scanning packaging covered by the deposit system,
  • saving return-related data,
  • saving return codes, vouchers or coupons from reverse vending machines, RVMs or return points,
  • assisting with reading data from coupons and vouchers using OCR,
  • setting reminders for expiring vouchers,
  • reporting changes and supporting return-point map updates.

3. What data may be processed

Depending on how the app is used, the following types of data may be processed:

a) Location data

If the user gives permission, the app may access the device location to display nearby return points, centre the map around the current area and make it easier to search for nearby points.

Location is used only for map- and proximity-related features.

b) App usage data

The app may store information entered by the user or created while using the app's features, such as:

  • the number of added packages,
  • return history,
  • bag contents,
  • app settings,
  • user preferences,
  • data related to premium features.

c) Data related to return codes, vouchers and coupons

If the user uses the return codes feature, the app may store data entered manually by the user or recognised with the help of OCR, such as:

  • code or voucher number,
  • barcode or data needed to display it,
  • store or point name,
  • amount,
  • issue date or start date,
  • expiry date or number of valid days,
  • code status, such as active, used or expired,
  • notes or other information added by the user, if the app provides such a feature.

This data is used to store and organise vouchers in the app, display codes, mark their status, maintain an archive and handle reminders for expiring vouchers.

d) User-submitted data

If the user reports changes, adds points or confirms statuses, data related to that submission may be processed, such as report content, point location, point status and submission date.

e) Technical data

The app may process limited technical data necessary for its operation, such as record identifiers, synchronisation data, information about subscription status or premium entitlements, and diagnostic information required for the correct functioning of services used by the app.

4. Camera and OCR

The app may use the camera only to scan labels related to packaging covered by the deposit system and to scan return codes, vouchers or coupons from reverse vending machines, RVMs or return points.

The camera is not used for any purpose unrelated to the scanning feature.

The OCR feature may analyse an image of a coupon or voucher to assist with reading data such as a code, voucher number, store, amount, date or expiry date.

Data recognised by OCR may be incomplete or incorrect. The user should check and, if needed, correct the data before saving or using it.

5. Notifications

The app may allow users to set local notifications, in particular reminders for expiring vouchers or return codes.

Notifications are sent only if the user grants the relevant permission in iOS. The user can change notification settings at any time in the device’s system settings.

6. Purposes of data processing

Data may be processed solely for the purpose of:

  • providing the app’s functionality,
  • displaying the map and return points,
  • searching for nearby points,
  • scanning packaging covered by the deposit system,
  • saving return history and bag contents,
  • saving, organising and displaying return codes, vouchers and coupons,
  • assisting with reading data from coupons and vouchers using OCR,
  • handling code statuses, archive and reminders,
  • handling community reports,
  • improving point data quality,
  • handling premium features and in-app purchases,
  • maintaining the security, stability and development of the app.

7. Legal basis for processing

Data is processed based on user consent, where necessary for the provision of the service, and on the operator’s legitimate interest in maintaining security, improving app quality and developing its features.

8. Where data may be stored

Data may be stored locally on the user’s device and within Apple services used by the app, especially for synchronisation and cloud storage, if the app uses such features.

Data related to return codes, vouchers and coupons may be stored locally on the user’s device. When using premium features or backup, selected data may also be stored in the user’s private iCloud, if the user has enabled the relevant Apple services.

Community-submitted point data, such as submitted locations, statuses or information about points, may be stored in Apple CloudKit to the extent needed for the map and community features.

9. External services

The app may rely on external services necessary for its operation, such as:

  • Apple / App Store / StoreKit for in-app purchases and subscriptions,
  • Apple CloudKit for storage, backup and synchronisation of selected data,
  • Apple MapKit for maps and points,
  • iOS system permissions for location, camera and notifications,
  • iCloud for backup of selected user data, if this feature is available and enabled.

The app does not sell user data to third parties.

The app does not display third-party advertising network ads, unless explicitly stated in a future version of this Privacy Policy.

10. In-app purchases

The app may offer in-app purchases, including subscriptions. Payments are handled by Apple. The operator does not receive the user’s payment card details or full billing information.

The operator may receive limited information necessary to confirm a purchase or activate premium features.

11. Children’s data

The app is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal data without an appropriate legal basis.

If there is a concern that a child’s data has been shared without the required consent, please contact kontakt@zakaucjowani.pl.

12. Data retention period

Data is stored only for as long as necessary for the operation of the app, the delivery of its features, maintaining the quality of point data and fulfilling legal obligations.

Data saved locally on the device may remain there until the user deletes it or uninstalls the app, unless the app provides a separate data deletion feature.

Data stored in iCloud or CloudKit may remain available in accordance with the user’s Apple ID account settings, Apple services, and synchronisation or backup mechanisms.

13. User rights

Where provided by law, the user may request access to their data, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

In practice, some of these rights may also be exercised through iOS system settings, disabling location, camera or notification access, deleting data in the app, deleting the app or contacting the operator.

14. Data security

Reasonable efforts are made to protect user data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage can guarantee complete security.

15. Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated in the event of changes to app functionality, data processing methods or legal requirements. The current version will be published at the same URL.
