1. General provisions
These Terms of Use define the rules for using the Zakaucjowani application.
The owner and operator of the application is Adamic Studio, contact: kontakt@zakaucjowani.pl.
By using the application, the user accepts these Terms of Use. If the user does not accept them, the application should not be used.
2. What the app is
Zakaucjowani is a mobile app designed in particular to:
- find reverse vending machines and return points,
- check return point statuses,
- scan packaging labels,
- save return history and package counts,
- save return codes, vouchers or coupons from reverse vending machines, RVMs or return points,
- assist with reading data from coupons and vouchers using OCR,
- report changes and support return-point data updates.
The app is informational, supportive and organisational in nature.
The app is not an official app of any retail chain, RVM operator, return point or entity responsible for the deposit return system, unless expressly stated otherwise.
3. Using the app
The user agrees to use the app lawfully, in line with its intended purpose, without violating the rights of others or the security of the app and its infrastructure.
In particular, the following are prohibited:
- submitting false, misleading or harmful reports,
- attempts to disrupt the operation of the app,
- bypassing technical safeguards,
- using the app in ways that violate the law or accepted standards of conduct.
4. Return point data and responsibility for information
The app presents data about reverse vending machines, return points and their statuses based on publicly available information, data provided by retail chains, and community reports and confirmations.
The operator makes reasonable efforts to keep the data useful and up to date, but does not guarantee that it will always be complete, correct or current.
In particular, point status may change, a point may be moved, closed or temporarily unavailable, and user-submitted information may require verification.
The user relies on the data shown in the app at their own risk.
5. User submissions and community content
If the app allows users to report changes, add points, confirm statuses or take part in community features, users must submit only accurate information that does not mislead and does not violate the law or third-party rights.
The operator reserves the right to reject or remove a submission, ignore a proposed change, or limit access to community features in cases of abuse.
6. Return codes, vouchers and OCR scanner
The app may allow the user to save return codes, vouchers, coupons or other data from printed receipts received from reverse vending machines, RVMs or return points.
This feature is supportive and organisational in nature. The app does not issue vouchers, does not generate return codes, does not process payments, does not act as an intermediary in paying out funds, and does not guarantee that a given code, voucher or coupon will be accepted by any store, retail chain, machine, return point or other entity.
Return codes, vouchers and related data may be stored locally on the user’s device. When using premium features or backup, selected data may also be stored in the user’s private iCloud, if the user has enabled the relevant Apple services.
The user is responsible for independently checking the correctness of saved data, including in particular the code, voucher number, amount, store, issue date and expiry date.
The OCR scanner is only an assistive tool. Data recognition may be incomplete, incorrect or outdated, in particular due to photo quality, lighting, damage to the printed receipt, an unusual coupon format, text recognition errors or changes introduced by stores and machine operators.
The operator does not guarantee the correctness of the OCR scanner or the consistency of recognised data with the printed receipt. Before saving or using a code, the user should check the data and correct it manually if needed.
The user should keep the original paper voucher, coupon or receipt until it has been successfully used. Saving a code in the app does not replace the original printed receipt, unless the rules of a given store, retail chain, machine operator or return point expressly allow this.
The operator is not responsible for refusal to accept a code, voucher or coupon by a store, retail chain, machine, return point or other entity, or for the loss of the ability to use a voucher resulting from incorrect OCR recognition, incorrect data entry by the user, expiry, app failure, data deletion, issues with the device, Apple services, iCloud or other external services.
The expiring voucher reminder feature, if available, is supportive in nature. The operator does not guarantee that a reminder will be delivered in every case or that it will be delivered in time to allow the voucher to be used.
7. Premium features and in-app purchases
The app may offer paid features, including subscriptions and other in-app purchases.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. The charge will be made to the user’s Apple ID account after purchase is confirmed.
The user can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple account settings.
In-app purchases are handled by Apple under App Store rules. The operator is not responsible for Apple’s payment flow, including payment authorisation, billing, refunds or subscription management within the user’s Apple account.
8. Zakaucjowani+
Zakaucjowani+ is the paid part of the app and may give access to additional features, including in particular statistics, extended return insights, higher active return code limits, reminders for expiring vouchers and backup of selected data in the user’s private iCloud.
The scope of premium features may change as the app evolves. The operator reserves the right to develop, modify, add or remove selected features, provided this does not violate applicable law.
iCloud backup, if available, depends on Apple services, Apple ID account settings, iCloud availability, internet connection and the configuration of the user’s device. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted backup operation, full data synchronisation or the ability to restore data in every case.
9. Intellectual property
All rights to the app, its name, design, interface, code, graphics, texts and other elements belong to the operator or are used in accordance with applicable law or relevant licences.
Copying, distributing, modifying or otherwise using app elements without a proper legal basis is prohibited.
10. Availability of the app
The operator makes reasonable efforts to keep the app working properly and available, but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
The app may be temporarily unavailable due to technical work, updates, failures, external service interruptions or issues on the side of Apple or infrastructure providers.
The operator may temporarily restrict access to all or part of the app’s features if necessary for security, stability or the development of the service.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for incorrect or outdated point information, temporary app unavailability, user decisions based on app data, incorrect data recognition by the OCR scanner, incorrectly saved or deleted return codes, refusal to redeem a voucher by a store or return point, loss of the ability to use a coupon, failure to deliver a reminder, issues with backup or data synchronisation, damage resulting from using or being unable to use the app, or the operation of external services, including Apple and iCloud services.
Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Changes to the app and Terms of Use
The operator may continue developing the app and introduce changes to its features, interface or functionality.
The operator may also amend these Terms of Use if justified by changes to app features, the business model, legal requirements or the need to clarify provisions.
The current version of the Terms of Use will be published at the same URL. The effective date will be indicated at the start of the document.
13. Stopping use of the app
The user may stop using the app and delete it at any time.
Deleting the app from a device does not always automatically end a subscription. Subscriptions must be managed via the user’s Apple account under App Store rules.
14. Governing law
To the extent permitted by law, these Terms of Use are governed by Polish law, taking into account mandatory consumer protection rules.
